OUR CURRICULUM

 

 

 

The goal of Aguiar large Family Child Care Home is to create a safe, happy and stimulating environment in which children can grow and gain a rewarding and creative learning experience everyday.

 

Our curriculum focuses on the various aspects of child development physical, cognitive, emotional and social. Children are grouped by age. Each group’s curriculum is designed to accommodate the developmental stages of the age-group. Each age group has developmental milestones to reach within our curriculum.

 

Monthly themes provide learning experiences, which help a child develop  cognitively, improve gross/fine motor skills through active involvement, and encourages language development all while promoting early literacy.

 

Active learning activities include:

- Language Development-vocabulary, phonics, etc.

- Emerging Literacy including speaking, reading, and           writing.

- Math-numbers, shapes, problem solving, among others.

- Science-hands-on discovery and exploration.

- Social/Emotional Development.

- Creative Expression including Art and Music.

- Cultural Diversity.

- Physical Health and Development.
